life in numbers

I wonder what life would be like without numbers. What would a day or an evening feel like if not guided by anything other than the rising sun or the howling moon? Surely, math has advanced our society to extremes. We have handheld screens and knowledge at a flick of a fingertip. Would we share the same thoughts, promote products, and insta-love on each other were it not for the audience counter or accessible “likes” on a photo or Facebook post? Sometimes we can be so consumed to include everyone, perform the acrobatics, respond to the tick-tock messages, compete for the advantages that we forget who we are and why we are here. Some say, “you’re insta-famous” and I think to myself and often say out loud, “it doesn’t exist.” Because what the numbers teach me is how much people want to connect even if by sharing photos, or our family life, and or my diatribes like this one. It’s one of the most fascinating ways to see people from all over the world. I have tried your food recipes, jumped into a bendy yoga posture, I have cried at your words, I have laughed at your bloopers, I have see the sun shine in Aruba, the rain London, the faces of our children, and fashion, and so much love has risen from this square that it’s hard to imagine what life would be like without our numbers. Because we are one in this human experience.
Above all, we want to connect, explore, open, and create ourselves, every damn day. Continue to shine your heart and open yourselves.
